“ A must check out if ever in the loop or at Union Station. Good way to pass the time, have a pastry while you wait for your train or while you take your lunch break. Loved the mango passion macaron. ”
“ Visited this "French" market during a quick trip to Chicago for a couple of appointments, and it was my first time here. I was impressed by the variety of vendors and options available. The ambiance was delightful, with French music playing in the background, creating a lively and unique atmosphere. We decided to grab a quick snack and tried Mocchi Donuts & Dogs. We went for the Ramen Half-and-Half Corn Dog (half mozzarella cheese, half hot dog). The ramen coating was a bit underwhelming -- it lacked flavor. The mozzarella was hot but fairly bland, as expected, though the hot dog itself was tasty. If I come back, I'd definitely explore sauces or additional flavors to enhance the experience. I'm also curious to try some of the Asian and French-inspired spots they had. Overall, it was a decent experience. The market is convenient if you're in a pinch, offering essential grocery items like snacks, food, and even toilet paper. Worth a visit if you're nearby! ”
“ What a nice experience. We stopped at one of the Italian eatery's (Firenze) and I had an Italian sandwich with chips and a canned water , all for $13 Only one beef I have with the French market is most of the places don't take cash. I'm sorry but that messed up in my opinion. Other than that excellent ”
“ The French Market is handy for sure. It's located in the bottom level of Ogilvie Transportation Center (aka Northwestern Station). It has various food vendors, so you can pop in and pick a bottle of water or something more substantial. There's an outlet of Vanilla Patisserie here, a sandwich stand, and you can pick up a loaf of bread too! That's just a glimpse of what's here, so it's worth a wander. And of course it's a great help if you need to pick something up on the way to work or home. ”
“ We enjoyed a trip through the French Market the other day when we were down in Chicago. Now while they don't really have many "French" stands operating in the market, there were a number of very nice places to buy food, fresh produce, and the like. The Market is located in the basement of the Ogilvie Transportation Center, aka the Northwestern Train Station. The Market opens up to Clinton Avenue on the west and the basement level of the train center ... so one doesn't have to fight the elements to get here. With probably two dozen stands, you just walk through the indoor market and buy what strikes your fancy at each ... so it is a self-service kind of place. At the far end of the room they have an area set off with a few dozen tables and chairs, so you can eat whatever you brought to or bought in the Market. It is also a great place to cool your heels ... e.g., read a book with a cup of coffee ... if you have time to kill before your train arrives/leaves. They are busy at the morning rush and lunch, so now you know. ”
“ Decent food hall. Have definitely seen places with more variety of options (like Grand Central Market in LA). Not sure why it is labeled as French Market since there are various different cuisines, from East Asian, French, Australian, and Indian. Not everything is open during lunch time though. Food from the vendors are reasonably priced, and is takeout style so service is fast. There is a section to eat with many tables, but can get crowded. Market itself is a little hard to find since it's inside a transit station. ”
“ This was an AMAZING discovery, I did not know about this food hall! Once inside, the market connects directly to the public transportation. In terms of options, there are SO many different regions to choose from (Taiwanese, Filipino, Italian, Indian). On a weekday afternoon it wasn't too busy. Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stop by and grab lunch while you're in the area. ”
